Molluscum

Molluscum contagiosum is a skin infection caused by the pox virus. It is quite common in children and spread by skin to skin contact. It is also seen in adults and can be transmitted through sexual contact. Molluscum are painless small bumps on the skin with a tiny central indentation and way core. They can develop anywhere on the body and can be spread by scratching. They can be successfully treated with topical medications (Cantherone, Imiquimod) or liquid nitrogen.
